How It Works
Application and Interviews
-
Applicants
must first apply to the Elrod Fellowship with a
general application, giving preference to geographic location or type of
work.
-
Applications are screened
by an on-campus committee composed of faculty, alumni, and staff. Each
candidate is interviewed. The screening committee presents their
recommendations for applicant matches with specific agencies.
-
The
Elrod Fellowship
Manager matches applicants with agencies
based on the interviewing/screening committee’s recommendations.
Hiring
During Fellowship Year
-
All applicants hired by a
host organization, will be designated Elrod Fellows. Students are matched
with Alumni Mentors in city where they are placed. These mentors serve as
resources for the student throughout the duration of the fellowship
-
Fellows and W&L alumni are
invited to participate in Educational Seminar Series and on-line
reading/discussion groups. The Educational Seminar series is organized by
local Alumni with support by the Elrod Fellowship Program Manager.
